Memorial Day on 30A is a special time, a moment to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom, while also celebrating the stunning coastal community we call home. As Linda Miller, known fondly as The Smile of 30A, I’m proud to share why this holiday is so meaningful here along the beautiful Emerald Coast.

30A is more than just miles of sugar-white beaches and turquoise waters; it’s a place where community spirit shines. Every Memorial Day weekend, locals and visitors come together to remember our veterans with parades, ceremonies, and family gatherings. It’s a time filled with gratitude, reflection, and joy.

One of the highlights is the annual Memorial Day ceremony held at the local veterans memorial, where families and neighbors honor those who served. It’s a heartfelt reminder of the sacrifices made to keep our community safe and free. Many of us also participate in beach cleanups and charity events, giving back to the place that gives us so much.

Of course, Memorial Day on 30A wouldn’t be complete without enjoying the outdoors. From paddleboarding along the scenic waterways to savoring fresh seafood at local restaurants, the holiday weekend is a perfect blend of remembrance and relaxation. Families picnic on the beach, children play in the sand, and sunsets remind us of nature’s beauty and life’s precious moments.
